They won't have, it will be the landlords responsibility. If he gets caught not enforcing the ban he will lose his licence and the pub will close.

i bet you said the same thing when smoking was banned in all public places. It's hardly a big step.

Many pubs occupy prime residential locations often sitting on large sites. Great for conversion or redevelopment into much need housing.

Entirely off the entire hospital complex, not outside the main entrances as happens at my local hospital.

Perhaps ex smokers should all be required to compensate the government for the loss of taxation due to their stopping smoking ?

Not enough, nowhere near enough.

Dianne Abbott perhaps ?

he money will be found when former pub sites are converted or redeveloped into residential properties. Some pubs sit on prime locations.

Its so easily enforceable, it becomes the landlords responsibility and if he is found to have allowed smoking he will will loose his licence and the pub will close. Smokers are dirty people discarding their disgusting butts everywhere. Not hard to find the evidence.

Lots of former pub sites were converted or redeveloped into residential properties. We need housing more than pubs.

When I attended my local hospital this week, outside the main entrance was littered with dirty disgusting cigarette butts.

True, but if you make someone else responsible for enforcing them its so much easier. Make the landlord responsible, if he doesn't enforce, remove his licence and then the pub closes.

Very true.

Because something is made illegal doesn't mean it wont happen. Murder is illegal but it still happens !

The landlord will be made responsible, if he doesn't enforce, he loses his licence and the pub closes. Its so simple.

The British like banning things, its part of our national culture to do it.

To eat, drink and socialise in a pleasing environment. I hate smoking and everything about it.
1
Does that make it OK ?
