  2.  Wednesdeity  The top 1% of earners pay @ 28% of all income tax. Those on low pay either pay very little tax or none and receive far more from the state than they contribute. Who do they think pays for their benefits because its not themselves !

  3.  @barrysmithhy1583  Agreed. There should be a higher threshold at which everyone pays tax and one rate irrespective of income. That would be far more equitable and incentivise excellence.

  4.  @barrysmithhy1583  There are also millions who whilst paying some tax, receive far more from the state by way of benefits. Who do they think pays for it, because its not them !
