  4. Why should they, the Banks profits would just be bigger and they pay 25% Corporation tax but pay it to the Bankers themselves and they pay 45% tax. Everybody wins !

  8. Energy companies were subject to a 25% profits levy in May. They are also taxed at 40% rather than 25% which all other companies pay.

  9. The reality is that a windfall tax on Energy companies would raise surprisingly little extra money. Sunak imposed a 25% levy in May on top of the 40% tax they already pay which is 15% higher than normal Corporation tax.
