  1. In some case yes. The pandemic and the first lockdown, forced businesses to do things differently and many of their previously held fears failed to materialise. Businesses need to be profitable to continue to exist and grow. If they can be just as profitable with less people then it makes sense to let some go.

  2. Sadly job cuts are a fact of your working life. They not something new. I was made redundant 16 years ago and I couldn't wait to go. Not all job cuts are bad.

  3. Money is a very convenient and universally accepted measure of how an economy is performing. What if something else was used or the importance of money as an economic indicator was reduced ? We accept without question that economic growth is good and a reduction is bad, but why ?

  4. Whatever the figure had been the Labour Party , would want to find fault. They are only interested in political point scoring, not being constructive. If this muppet finds the result so disappointing why does he have such a smirk on his face !

  5. Easy, everything was shut down with the first lockdown, now some of it is open, thats how its' grown. Don't confuse this with how it was pre lockdown.
