  4. I suspect he breached the terms of his contract of employment which would have contained a clause on behaviour. Sports personalities saying and doing stupid things is hardly unusual.

  6. The BBC knew, it was common knowledge. Times and attitudes were very different. Surely the Labour Party knew Cyril Smith was a serial sex offender and like Savile he was given a knighthood !
