  7. Truss campaigned with Tax cuts at the top of her agenda, so why is anyone surprised that's what the mini budget contained ? What she hadn't expected was the market reaction to be so savage.

  9. Very unlikely, the courts wouldn't even rule on the legality of an independence vote until the Scottish Parliament tabled one. Then they will probably kick it out.

  13. Common sense from the Bank of England. Markets have already priced in a 1% base rate rise for November. Further increases of this magnitude are needed well into next year. Unpopular but necessary if inflation is to be reigned in.
