  1. I was a bit skeptical when I saw this was from Ian Livingstone on a technical channel, when by his own admission he is non-technical - but he totally won me over. Great vid.

I think the point is that kids need to be introduced to basic concepts at an early age, sure they will get job training - they will have to get job training anyway as the industry moves so quickly - but having the fundamentals down first is important - how is an employer supposed to know if you are going to be any good if you have nothing at all to show them? They might guess that if you are good at maths, you might make a good programmer - but that's not always the case.
