  1. Excessive heat cycling will indeed destroy electronic components - sure it'll keep recording if you use the bypass, but it may be going past the level of heat the components are engineered for. So by "tricking" your camera to bypass the "artificial" safety system, what you are really doing is reducing the life of your camera.
