I think the taxi driver is Sikh - normally a really laid back & rational culture in my experience. I don't think we're getting the full story here.

Might pay for him to get his old car inspected from time to time - guarantee that ball joint was flogged out and the rest of the suspension probably is too.

@stickshiftsonly93 It's interesting to dig into how authorities report these things. Where I live if the driver is over the speed limit, the police record the primary cause for the accident as "speed related" regardless of any other factors - so if you get someone who's drunk and speeding - it's speed related - drugged and speeding - speed related - tyre blows out and speeding - speed related... well you get my point. Only if the driver was not speeding do they record the primary cause as something else. Thus the vast majority of accidents here are speed related, and we end up with the police focused entirely on speeding - and every year our road toll gets worse for some reason. Despite us having annual safety inspections here, the Police have all but stopped checking for compliance - they don't even have random testing for alcohol or drugs anymore like they did a decade or two back - I'd guess a significant portion of accidents here, the vehicle has bald tyres, worn brakes, and has not passed an annual inspection - but the driver was a few km/h over the speed limit - so it was speeding that was the problem.
