  1. I was answering your question about advice for visiting FSU nations. I said 'don't'. Eastern Europe is now flooded with millions of Ukrainian refugees hence much disruption to normal life. The Baltic nations are in a state of high alert because they fear being invaded too. Russia is beginning to struggle with sanctions and the direct, hard, impoverishing impact on ordinary people. Visiting such places would not be conducive to your personal safety during this time. Normally the Russians and Eastern Europeans welcome foreign visitors. These are not normal times and won't be for the foreseeable future. But that''s just my opinion as someone who's travelled there and got to know places over a long time. You'd do well to speak with your government's foreign office.
