Comments by "iggle" (@iggle6448) on "How the TRIBALISM of LGBTQ+ is SILENCING Gay Men" video.
You're describing the place I thought most of society had thankfully reached some 15-20 years ago. But that threatened to render a lot of people redundant.... As you say, drop the t plus -and then let's all get back to being civilised.

Exactly, sir! And it sounds like yours is a life well lived. Thank you.

Thank goodness for parents like you! Gives me hope for the future - that there'll be at least some sane people about. I'd bet that they'll be the ones who become leaders once all this furore is past.

@Droo75 Thank you for your perspectives. In another comment today, I wrote about how we were there 20 odd years ago and now it's all messed up for everyone (except the entitled loud people). In a comment an hour ago, chatting with another person who'd lamented the small minority of oppressive vocal people who are refusing to let others speak their opinions, I suggested that if they don't talk and get reasonable and discuss solutions then eventually some of the people and the government are going to come down on them - the ugly retort. Because that's always the how these things go.. Don't get me started on how white men are being bashed, and how women are being intimidated. I'm the mother of sons and a daughter, I had senior positions in education, the irrational bashing of boys was to fight even then. Now we're scared to go into ladies toilets.... It's the loss of not only humour but also humanity, "the minority controlling the majority, without empathy."

I've been thinking about the wisdom of don't ask/don't tell policy recently. Treat humans as humans. No need for exhibitions of victimhood. And your point about early warning and outcome predictions can equally be said about the feminist movement. On balance, it's not really improved women's lot - apart from being able to buy one's own house, if you have the money. I speak as a woman, mother, grandmother.

Rather a good analogy. Character above all.

@james970027 Thank you, you've put it all so well. If you want to be left alone to live your life, don't put your life in other people's faces! That's just needy affirmation-seeking. I always say I don't give a flying fig about anyone's sexuality (unless they're into illegal/harmful things). I really don't. I'm only interested in you if you're a person of integrity, honest, considerate and sociable! So many of the characters who get themselves in the media are terribly needy and giving everyone in the letters 'community' a bad rap. It's such a shame.

It certainly happened in the women's movement too.
