@Thepoweroftheriffcompelsme I so agree with you. Time was when people's thoughts and opinions were valuable simply because they were human beings. When I was a kid and bullies would try it on we immediately answered back with 'No you can't make me! This is a free country!!' This ID ranking is obnoxious bullying.

@gordoncrawley5826 I tell you, I used to have agonies about that confabulation and the one about the tooth fairy.... They all seem to have forgiven me. To the extent that they're now doing the Father Christmas/Tooth fairy on their own children!

@getyoursupervisor8519 Well, yes, it's shocking to see how much freedom we've lost. But that was the commonly heard catchphrase of British children (and adults) up to 30-odd years after WW2. Which was still in our parents and grandparents' minds. There were still bombsites in the UK well into the late 1970s. We were proud that that our forces had fought to free Europe from tyranny.
