@dannyfeller7034 May I suggest that you choose a different premise on which to base your argumentation? There are many studies that show that 6 month old babies can innately discern and assess fairness in others. Fairness is the bedrock on which our understanding of right and wrong and common sense are based. Every cognitively able adult who commits a crime knows that they are doing wrong. Unless they are cognitively impaired. In which case society, using common sense, treats them as disabled and finds appropriate ways to support rather than punish them. On the other hand, 'teaching people right from wrong' is concerned with teaching 1. laws and 2. forms of respect for others - both of which are societal/cultural and variable constructs, not innate or universal. You might also be interested in studying critiques of Gramsci.
