This is all getting shockingly mechanistic, having to keep evidence of where you go and when, just to protect yourself against - let's face it - the erroneous yet lucrative use of technology and the abuse of the Courts.

i dunno though, Jane - are jails all that secure these days 🤔?

Oh good grief, that sounds really horrible to watch. Like some sort of forced soviet propaganda! Have they gone mad?!

Given habitual mission creep, this will be used to take down many 'non-approved' news outlets. It'll leave a small Pravda cohort.

50% in fuel poverty??? WTF. We really have become a 3rd world country....

I wonder if it's worth it to Starbucks to penalise a probably erstwhile and potential customer by 'fining' them exorbitantly for using their parking space on a day when they'd not bought anything? Is it worth the potential bad publicity, as demonstrated here? Not all laws and entitlements are applied judiciously. Goodwill always encourages custom, penalisation never does. (An aside: have you noticed that all these chain outfits are becoming very careless towards/about customers nowadays? Like they're in charge; they don''t serve us, rather we customers have to kowtow to them? ) If that had been me, I'd never step into a Starbucks again. And I'd make sure to tell others about it too. (But then I never frequent either of these or their ilk, so it's moot really)

If that really is the case then it's a misconduct issue.

Signed - with alacrity. Poor man, heinous torture doesn't begin to describe what the CJS did to him. I hope he gets £multi millions in damages (I'll sign that petition too) and that all involved in unlawfully incarcerating him are sacked without pensions. The UK's public services and institutions are so terribly malfunctional now and obviously lawless. This case and the horrific Letby case aren't one-offs, this corruption is everywhere. We ordinary people have been reporting it for years yet no government, whether labour or tory, would listen. Instead they've made the UK a lawless mess where anyone paid from the public purse can usually get away with all sorts of offending and incompetence.

Well said. The rise of sociopathic behaviour in modern society is at epidemic levels I reckon. Dishonesty erodes the whole fabric of our society. It really injures real people.

Yes, this is very concerning for those of us who need to use toilets for people who are disabled.

Way to make friends and influence people. Not. At least they could have charged the correct amount for the time the driver was there plus a couple of quid for sending out an auto-generated demand.

There have been cases where the BBC has fabricated evidence against people.

We learned in the Heard trial that Johnny Depp was an abused child. Too often, that sets a person up for a life of abuse and negligence. Predators can smell the vulnerability a mile off.

@a64738 Well, yes, it does tell us that the media is more effective at investigating past offences or possible offences, and also that women would rather speak with these investigators than the police.

@batintheattic7293 You know, you may be onto something...I vaguely remember a very hirsute grandpa who loved chasing balls in the woods...I don't know about cabbages, but I did have a great-aunt called Lettice and a whole string of great-great-greats who seemed to think they were kings...apparently they got away with all the dressing up. When you think about it everyone's real character is buried by history unfortunately. ... the good news is that we're now reclaiming our hidden cosplay history!

Didn't the government make TV licence free over the Coronation weekend, because it was deemed to be an event of surpassing national importance? In any case, you could watch it all on here a couple of hours later...!

Not a peep, not even crickets on my aye phone.... And I had made sure that all the knobs and whistles were working ( I so want to be sure I'm awake to savour those last few minutes....). In the dystopian idiocracy towards which we're hurtling one could imagine that they're fine about selecting those they'd like to keep and those they want to ditch!

🤣🤣🤣 You're right! They're so dysfunctional. Ludicrous really since they consider themselves to be a 'world class' communicator!

I didn't know that. How is Australian public broadcasting funded?

It's obvious what the Government is doing: Boris is on his 3rd foreign holiday in as many months, and his likely replacements (those who helped get the UK into this state) are gallivanting around the country trying to convince anyone who'll listen to vote for them. This situation has gone way beyond personal and party politics. We urgently need an emergency national coalition gov to sort it out and ensure people are well fed and have sufficient energy.
