Police routinely disregard stalking complaints. About 1.1 million people report stalking each year according to Suzy Lamplugh Trust. Do we hear about any of them?

Indeed, the fact that BBB regularly has to explain the law to us ordinary folk leads me to question who benefits most from the avalanche of complex laws that we're held to. It's impossible for anyone to know all the many laws.

It does appear to be looking more and more like a BBC+Police v. Cliff Richard hatchet job.

That's all too common, regardless of whether the offender is male or female. See statistics at Suzy Lamplugh Trust

Well said. I consider their regular threats to constitute an offence. They really do cause me fear, alarm and distress. Many years ago, I stopped watching any live tv, just like many other people. The BBC can't get it into their heads that many people don't like broadcast tv now. But they're like scorned lovers who get obsessive and more and more obnoxious and harassing!

@timg1246 Yes, indeed that's my point. Stalking is an epidemic in the UK.

@yes-me6yg I was reading through the comments here and thinking that it's quite easy for some to say it's all about fair and impartial justice and to imagine that everyone gets a fair crack of the whip. But in reality there are more and more things that ordinary folk simply cannot afford to appeal nor litigate. Legal Aid is all but gone. Yet, if you're a Prince with loads of resources you're allowed to take up several days' Court time just sitting in the witness box relating mostly unsubstantiated perceived grievances! Those levels of inequality are fast rising. It doesn't make for a healthy society.

It most likely would have been an offence under the PFH Act 1997
