I wonder if it's worth it to Starbucks to penalise a probably erstwhile and potential customer by 'fining' them exorbitantly for using their parking space on a day when they'd not bought anything? Is it worth the potential bad publicity, as demonstrated here? Not all laws and entitlements are applied judiciously. Goodwill always encourages custom, penalisation never does. (An aside: have you noticed that all these chain outfits are becoming very careless towards/about customers nowadays? Like they're in charge; they don''t serve us, rather we customers have to kowtow to them? ) If that had been me, I'd never step into a Starbucks again. And I'd make sure to tell others about it too. (But then I never frequent either of these or their ilk, so it's moot really)

Way to make friends and influence people. Not. At least they could have charged the correct amount for the time the driver was there plus a couple of quid for sending out an auto-generated demand.
