Comments by "iggle" (@iggle6448) on "Legendary Pollster Frank Luntz: The British Public Are Deeply Disillusioned." video.
@psalm1197 Luntz thinks we do and, as he said, perception is reality. My take on what he's doing is that he's bigging up what's good about the UK as if it's a magic salve, he'll take that home, write books about how he can save the US with rediscovered wisdom from the old country - and thus relaunch his career. Two months is no time at all in sociological/anthropological research terms. But just about enough time to gather some fairy dust....

@lightdampsweetenough2065 It's people like Luntz who actually push this 'perception is reality' nonsense because it makes it easy to bend the rules and people's minds.Which is his whole business. He's positioning himself for something. Yes, postmodernism is mindbending, and deliberately so. It's certainly a fifth column.

Don't you think he's right? Even in the quiet little rural backwater where I live there's great deal of disillusion with politics, the gvt and its laissez faire attitude to wokeness, our institutions, the travesty of our big cities, the bending of laws and rules to accommodate the mobsters...
7
Now, see? That's what I thought 'populism' was! So, what's wrong with ordinary voters voting against people who don't see you as anything else but cash cows (or burdens)?
7
@LettyK I saw that years ago. It should be required watching for all.

The Nudge office....forever spinning.
6
@annetteannette9205 Yes, I can only agree with you. We've had enough of these 'nudgers' (the UK gvt actually has a unit informally called 'the nudge office'. It's where they cook up all the manipulative spin and memes advantageous to themselves. No doubt with a lot of help from cynical users with God complexes like Mr Luntz.)

Very well said and spot on, Caroline. Thank you.

@soulsweet40 yea,it was a bit sucky wasn't it!

@iddicco Well said - and I felt that he was ingratiating too. He was the same on GBNews last week. He wore Union Jack trainers even. I've never, ever seen an American wearing anything with a Union Jack on. What does he want of us..?
4
@RowanProductions Well said. But guess what? There isn't any such thing as equality.Nor 'equity'.
4
Completely agree with your suggestion. For the last 25yrs, I've said that politicians should be selected from the Electoral Register, just as we are selected for Jury Service. Failing that, give the reins to the Women's Institute (seriously, such a well-organised, smart and diligent group of people!).

@mesolithicman164 Excellent summation of the state of play.

I thought his points are accurate. But, just about any sensible person in the UK could have said just the same. NCF has been saying these things ever since it got started. Luntz should make it a practice to declare his political leanings.

I think Luntz was here for his own benefit.He seems clueless and washed up regarding his own country. I think we in Britain should hope for the best but expect and prepare for the worst. We need to stop all this right/left nonsense,way past its sell-by day. We need a politics of integrity. Not the persistent Eton Mess illiberally covered in wokesterism we've had for far too long now.

@markkavanagh7377 Hear hear.

Yep, to me he sounds lost. He admitted that at the start of the interview.Seems like he;s just here to gather and take home some ideas from a more successful nation.
2
He's wanting to take back to the US some of our success tips...because, as he confessed right at the start, he doesn't know how to fix the US now.
2
@king offa Very well said, thank you . The politicos don't acknowledge these facts because gvt>big business>gvt churn. There should be a total ban on the revolving door expectations of politicians and thus the influence that big business has on gvt.

I wish someone would tell me exactly what 'populist' means now...has it been turned inside out to mean something it was never meant to mean? But yes, I agree that the elites cause all this mayhem. The majority of sane folks have been kicking back against it and them.

@sirrathersplendid4825 THANK YOU!! That's exactly what I always thought it meant!

Something has gone terribly awry when in 2021 27% of the UK population is living in poverty (half in relative poverty and the other half of that figure in absolute poverty). This when we also learned that the world produced enough food for 10 Billion people last year. And UK supermarkets trashed £70million worth of food last year.

@Bjorn2055 Plus ca change, plus ca la meme chose...🤔

@sirrathersplendid4825 Well, it has to be said that there's no bi-partisan conversation this side of the pond either. Just a bunch of screaming wokesters who just don't engage in rational dialogue with their'enemy'. Fully supported by the academy and the media, both of which are failing and will do/say anything to retain customers and line their own pockets.

@sirrathersplendid4825 It's just a thought, but the media makes a shedload of money/ratings by whipping up this wokester mob. It's certain that they don't make anything like as much by giving airtime/column inches to the facts that 1 in 3 UK children are living in poverty or that 27million Brits live in poverty (Office for National Statistics). I watched Tommy Robinson address the Oxford Union. It changed my mind completely about him. He's a regular bloke who spoke genuinely from the heart yet rationally about his town and country and the horrid mess that our gvts have made of towns and cities (for everyone, not just white people) with their unfettered and greedy immigration policies. Meanwhile, I really do think we should stop taking these deranged wokesters seriously. They're full of complaints but absolutely no solutions that take everyone's needs and wants into account. Clanging cymbals, their irrational manky word salads are way past their sell by date now!

davy boy Great manifesto! Not sure about the pagan stuff though we do need to ditch the mess of materialism and rediscover a more nuanced spirituality.

Nor me - until he popped up on GBNews last week.
