@ellenoneill7853 This is true, and we in the Shires are becoming increasingly disconnected from London and the metropolitan areas. We still speak plain English and not Word Salad Wokese.

I had an earth shaking moment when we went to London to protest against UK participation in the Iraq invasion. Surrounded by millions of other peaceful protesters that day in London and all over the country , the march came to a halt outside Parliament - it hit me like a ton of bricks and I literally said to myself 'there is no democracy anymore, Parliament is a sham'. The illusion of democracy died with Bliar. Millions of Britons like me who would never have dreamed of taking to the streets took to the streets that day to protest against Bliar taking us into an unlawful war that we knew was based on lies and would destroy huge numbers of innocent people. Despite many millions in the UK and worldwide telling him that he was wrong. We've never recovered our democracy since.

It's always 'lack of funds and resources' with these people. From all I've seen of the inner workings of taxpayer funded orgs, it is never a dearth of resources. It's always incompetence across a range of skillsets and egotistical power-seeking.

How very well said and so accurate. It could be an obituary. Our very reasonable aspirations have been shattered.

You have my unreserved sympathy and my empathy - for what it's worth. But you and I and scores of millions like us need the government's sympathy and empathy. You're right, the contempt that government and their civil service masters have for ordinary folk now is naked and unfettered, unconstrained by morality, ethics, law, standards, decency and common sense.

@greyvoice7949 I see this rising petty antisocial behaviour as part of a silent protest against the apparently unstoppable mess that politicians continue to make of our country. We can't get them out because all of them are on the same side : anti-UK.

Nail on the head. Bliar did this.

@mikeoglen6848 Though aren't those dwellings more likely to be repurposed shipping containers, thrown together with no thought for the people who'll have to live in them at extortionate rents?

That would have been a while after politicians, public servants, industry CEOs, et al stopped being accountable, responsible. Not an excuse of course. But it is very difficult to function truthfully and responsibly in a society where so many are irresponsible and deluded.

@oscarslife5497 Hungary.

@joycegibbs5267 I fear that too.

Thank you for your assessment. It's accurate. I'd love to answer but it would probably get wiped. In the most pressing, basic practical terms we need to scrap LibLabCon. We need a People's Parliament for Britain. Filled with non-politicians with successful leadership experience. Leadership with responsibility and accountability, not just big job titles for those who go along to get along, which is what most 'leaders' now imagine leadership to be.

Yes! Thank you for valuing this! Also, I want a national campaign against women presenters etc showing their cleavages. They're all at it- almost like a competition to see who can get away with showing the most skin. . So unprofessional and inappropriate.

All true except that 'we' are not doing this. A relative few in powerful positions are inflicting this on us.

I haven't felt this is my country for a couple of decades and more. It's why we moved out of the city over a decade ago. The malaise is beginning to touch us out here in the sticks.More parasitical costly charity shops taking over the bankrupted shops in the market place (free of property tax, so at our expense), all the banks gone, the churches are retreating, the other month I saw my first form that asked for my pronouns, people don't want to work they're that demoralised... we realise we need to move to an even more remote place....if 'drifters' includes 'disenfranchised' and 'unwanted on voyage' then this is how we and many feel.

W E F They're waiting for the fire sale. Snapping up all our stuff for pennies on the pound.

@feiningerjones738 💯 without any doubt.

@cosmos237 Exactly this. 'Europeanised' includes the eradication of democracy and national leadership talent and skills in two generations of those entering political careers.

@frederikaz5085 Unfortunately, few will heed your advice although I think it's good for perhaps a lot of people. They'd have to start at Sunday school level though. Most people today haven't set foot in a church to worship so it's not a return, it would be a beginning.... Proverbs and the Book of Sirach are very helpful...

@hereweare9096 Blimey! That sounds downright stupid on the part of the manufacturers. I mean, you wouldn't rush out and buy another 2-year dryer would you!? Sinister auto switch all the same...

@idonthavealoginname So would you advocate voting for the Islington man who said "I'd rather be at Davos than Westminster" and who cannot define what a woman is? That, of course, is still the same Tory record. The LibLabCon urgently needs to be completely eradicated. De facto, they've lost control of the nation.

@Cartamandua Precisely this. Deliberately so. Impossible to distil all the reasons why from 25 years of research. Tip of the iceberg and perhaps the most palatable reason is that it's explicitly geared to 'manage' ill health conditions, not to heal the poorly person. The resistance to realistic support for scientifically validated, comparatively inexpensive, integrated healing modalities is tacitly unshakeable.

Obviously it sets the lie to 'climate change' and 'saving the planet'. But we're not supposed to notice. Reality is that Global corps just do not care. Whilst governments and their chums shove the blame and responsibility on us little people for 'consuming too much'.
