  1.  @akastewart  Because the slave owners were recompensed for freeing their slaves, the descendants of slaves should go after the slave owners' descendants. They should not be going after the present days' innocent citizens (many of whose ancestors have also suffered under the ENGLISH elites and their governments) of the UK via the UK treasury.

  3. Yes, it's staggering. The Global Slavery Index gives a rough estimate of 40.3 million enslaved people today. Other authorities say many more. Interesting that the same self-interest that got people enslaved centuries ago still appears to pertain in their descendants.
