  2. Contact with the Human Race usually ends poorly for the species that gets discovered. Freedom is precious, and the only sure way to maintain Freedom is to stay "beneath-the-radar" of the Human Race. Knowing this myself, if and when I ever make contact with an alien, I do my best to make sure that alien, and all his kind, never gets discovered by the Human Race, at large. The Human Race always makes my attempts to function and survive a living hell. Knowing this, I would never bring the same fate down upon any alien that was brave enough to take me into its confidence. Let's just say, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. [HEY! WHAT A GREAT first paragraph TO A GREAT science fiction STORY!! It's the kind of paragraph that the protagonist of a movie would say, as a narration, during the first 40 seconds of the movie.]

  3. The Moon is tidally-locked to the Earth, but the Moon, relative to the Sun, is constantly rotating, while constantly revolving around the Sun, as well. When it comes to revolving around the Sun, the Moon is never in a state of retrograde. The Moon is constantly "tracing out" a spirograph sinusoid, as the Moon revolves around the Sun. Of all the planetary bodies, Earth's Moon seriously has the coolest planetary path. What's fascinating is that no one ever questions WHY it is possible for the Moon, when seen from Earth, to always exhibit the same Moon-phase, per Earth-day, no matter what earthly Time Zone you might be standing in.
