If it were me, I would rather completely do-away-with the need for charging intervals AND INSTEAD replace 12 reasonably-sized Aluminum metal plates (about every 1300 miles or so) BY USING an Aluminum/Air battery. To complement this approach, convenience store Gas Stations could start featuring Vending Machines that vend replacement Aluminum metal plates.
