Diesel is very hard to ignite. Think about it. In a Diesel engine cylinder, the compression ratio is 12 to 1, just to get the diesel to ignite at all. More likely, if a Diesel engine is on fire, it is the engine oil, coming into contact with a hot exhaust manifold, that is causing a fire. Engine oil will burn like crazy.

I think that Metal/Oxygen batteries (I.e. batteries that use atmospheric Oxygen) will solve most of the problems associated with EV batteries, and the addition of Solid Electrolyte technology will prevent internal electrical shorts, of the kind due to the growth of dendritic whiskers.

@cornstar1253 Solder containing Lead also contains Tin. The two metals form a eutectic alloy. The Tin is at 63% and the Lead is at 37%.
