Do you realize the difference between • throughout; . . . and the word you really wanted, which is. . . • thorough ; and • threw out ??? While you are contemplating the details of my suggested homework exercise, please research the environmental impact of Aluminum/Air batteries. I suspect that the environmental impact (regarding the retrieval of Aluminum) stacks up favorably.

Over and over again, Aluminum/Air batteries look like a simple and great idea. You would have to design an Aluminum/Air battery that permits for simple removal and replacement of the Aluminum metal plates. Each plate would likely be 8by4by0.375 (inches.) A single battery (capable of moving a car for 1300 miles) would probably use about 12 plates. So, at "gas" stations, we would likely erect Vending Machines that vend individual Aluminum metal plates. Eventually, you would want to replace the Aluminum Hydroxide electrolyte. I never hear that the mining of bauxite ore causes serious environmental damage.

@dmacattacks India is in the process of looking into Aluminum/Air batteries, for EV cars. They already have an Aluminum/Air battery design that they are "road" testing. My comment is based upon the actual battery design that they are using. Also, I'm not one the "climate change" nuts. When I think about EVs, I am mostly interested in the electric motor aspect. Industrial electric motors can take an enormous amount of mechanical abuse. Also, an electric motor can rapidly develop enormous amounts of torque. It's a shame that such a worthy technology has to be dripping with cringe politics and battery technology struggles.
