  2. So-... glass was probably invented accidentally, as the result of sand getting into hot furnaces, and leaving behind glass globules, at the bottom of the furnace. Too bad we couldn't accidentally invent CLEAR FORCEFIELDS, as the result of a similar lucky "accident." Forcefields would probably be a serious improvement over glass.
