I won’t get an answer back but here is my question: Siitting there in the desert, you can draw a Poynting vector that goes directly from a battery terminal to a lightbulb terminal, and will measure a length of approximately ONE meter. BUT, you can also draw a Poynting vector that goes just outside of one of the connecting wires, at a length of about 300Km. Why does the ONE METER Poynting vector determine the energy transfer path BUT the much longer 300Km Poynting vector does not? If the Poynting vectors that can be drawn around a single wire in this experiment have lengths ranging from 1m all the way up to 300Km, how does the energy traveling along the path of these various Poynting vectors all arrive at a lightbulb terminal at the same mutual time?
