Everybody is going to disagree with me, but the problem with movie watching is that the American public has outgrown the need for movies. THIS happened because, during the 2-term Obama administration, the entire American public became “self taught” to view EVERYTHING through the “lens” of Politics. Back in 1987, the average American knew nothing about politics, but could readily tell you some of the subplots on The Young & The Restless AND The Guiding Light. During the Obama administration, however, every single American became frantic about what would become of their Health Insurance, so much so that everyone “tuned in” to listen to the Rush Limbaugh radio program (during the hours that they would normally be watching CBS soap operas.) The result was that the popular “soap opera” TV programs collapsed, and, at the same time, Americans became “self taught” to view everything through the “lens” of Politics. In other words, daily politics became “the new” Soap Opera in their lives. The result was a more mature “movie watching” audience that rapidly outgrew the need for fictional movies (similar to how an adult outgrows the need for cartoons.)
