On a wide scale, across America, it appears that tech-based Social Media has had the same deleterious effect (upon school-age children) as opiate abuse. These kids are surrounded by tech-based means to access worthwhile knowledge, and yet, they are turning out mentally bone dry. It's like they are standing knee-deep in a flashflood, but, somehow, they can't absorb any water.

The flip side of this is that it has probably never been easier to qualify for a school's honor society. I mean, even some of the dumbest people, from my way-back-when days in public school, could easily outperform many of these modern kids.

There are other YouTube videos that occasionally mention the possibility of the federal US military holding a draft, in the unlikely event that the USA, someday, goes to war with China. You see, the USA has 1.3 million active-duty soldiers, whereas China has 2 million. So, the idea, in the event of war, is to draft 700K draft-age teenagers, to make up the difference. Can you imagine these TikTok kids showing-up for a military draft? The drill sergeants would have their work cut out for them.

When I worked as a tutor at my local community college, I had a "tu-tee" who was failing first-year Physics. This kid couldn't be bothered to memorize the metric prefixes. As a tutor, I could give homework assignments, and that was the assignment I gave him (i.e. memorize metric prefixes), week after week. Not once would he bother to do it. One day, I asked him what his job was. He told me he worked as an orderly, at a local hospital. Now, ask yourself, do you really want people working at hospitals who don't know what a milliliter or a cubic centimeter (cc) is?

You need to find the original movie titled The Time Machine, and watch the part that depicts the Eloi. Back in 1895, when H. G. Wells published the novel of the same name, if he only knew that, in a scant 130 years, how accurate his Eloi depiction would be. I mean, back in 1895, he (Wells) hadn't even seen the airplane, nor WW1, nor TV sets.
