  1. In comment replies, I've had a lot of people tell me that they wish HOLLYWOOD SQUARES would be a show again. I always tell them that, during the last HSqs era, the world hadn't gone "full tilt" political yet, and, back then, people could still laugh at themselves, and take a joke.

  2. It was a "4th wall" break, only in reverse. The audience "pierced the wall" by laughing, and the people on-stage were like "Did you just hear SOMETHING?? something like dreaded LAUGHTER??"

  3. Greg: "I thinks it's a good sign, that the audience is now savvy-er, than the people in front of them!" Either that, or it's a sign that Colbert lets anybody in for free, and even when its Colbert-crap, people hate to pass-up anything FREE.
