  1. Actually, after replaying it several times, I don’t see any crosswalk lines. Not that it should matter, because there certainly was no cause, or justification, for hitting a pedestrian, anyways.

One of the reporters reported that there was a crosswalk, but if you examine the road surface, there are no painted crosswalk lines. Someone should probably go to the trouble to "paint" some crosswalk lines. In any case, there is no justification for hitting a pedestrian with a motor vehicle. Putting up a few of those yellow "crosswalk awareness" signs would probably be a good idea, as well. It was not my intent to imply that the driver is without blame, nor to imply that the little girl is to blame.
