  1. The first thing Elon would point out is that a dense hydrocarbon molecule (i.e. kerosene) will always leave a lot of “gunk” residue all over the internals of the rocket engine. Before the rocket can be relaunched, all of that “gunk” has to be cleaned out. That’s why Elon’s rockets use methane. The simpler molecule doesn’t generate any “gunk” residue. This eliminates the need for a cleaning cycle PM, prior to re-using a re-useable rocket.
