  2. This reminds me of how grocery stores wouldn’t let a cashier quit until the cashier trained their replacement.

  3.  @russellmania5349  Believe it or not, there was once a time when young employees were dumb enough to seriously worry about getting a bad reference from a previous employer. These days, here in 2024, the only people I see still pulling that routine are owners of construction businesses. They will say something like... "If you do blah-blah, I'll see to it that you never work in construction, in this town, ever again!!"
