Is the UK at war with Iran? I hadn't heard.

@sebby324 @Sebby 324 Plus, a boat load of Royal Navy sailors were taken by Iranian forces in 2007. Iranian forces also seized US sailors in 2016. No firing by either side both times. Both times involved outnumbered small UK/US craft. This is what rogue states do. I'm all for dissuading them by diplomatic means and economic and military threats; yet a full war would best be avoided. Trump didn't reply when iranians landed missiles on US bases n Iraq in 2020.

@MacKay1812 @Grunger's corner Yeah, and does the UK have the forces to do so? No. Will they? No. So we have allies. Will they always fight alongside us? No. So what do we do? God knows. I was alive during the Falklands conflict; you can look up what the UK took down there to fight that war. We're never going to have that kind of reach or power again. In case you think I'm for letting the current Iranian regime off the hook, think again. They're a terrible menace. So is Russia, so is China. Russia is undermining our democracy very successfully without firing a shot. Seven years of sanctions hasn't stopped them, indeed, their best moves have come in that period. We need to be smarter.
