  1. Eh? A foreign power basing their planes on another sovereign nation's carrier? How long will this last? Does that mean UK planes can operate off US carriers? What happens if the RN carrier is targeted because of the US presence? For some time now the 'special relationship' has been one way traffic. I'm not against aiding an ally in times of need yet this doesn't seem equitable.

  2.  Din Djarin  Anyone not from the USA calls them foreign. How would Americans like being the junior partner in any relationship? I doubt they could imagine it. Even if warplanes of a different state were based 50 miles from Washington I doubt they'd be too bothered as they reign supreme on the military stage. Let's try it. The failing of the UK govt by getting rid of the Harrier and the Ark Royal should not mean the UK HAS to have US planes on it's carrier. I find it odd, objectionable, yet I will tolerate it you'll be happy to know. The UK has cooperated with the French and has deployed on their aircraft carrier after all... again because they're allies AND because the UK didn't have one. Still, if someone lets me have a go in any plane or chopper flying off a carrier I shall shelve my objections.
