I hear a lot that she's "good" at pivoting, and she just isn't. What people are really saying is that she does it very very often. A good pivot would successfully change the subject. As in you'd move to a different one, and the other person would follow you there. To pivot well you need to not make it brainlessly obvious that you're doing it...
