  1. I wonder if maybe Japanese military procurement switched from era dating to Imperial Calendar dating after Emperor Taishō's death because his era was so short. It was only 14 years, shorter than the expected service lifespans of some pieces of equipment (especially those adopted toward the end). Probably hard to know for sure, but it's a thought.
