  1. The Tokarev TT-33 does a similar sort of thing. OTOH, the TT-33 very much does not have a captive recoil spring, which makes getting it to the point where you can replace that easily replaced hammer group a huge pain in the butt. ;)

  2. Aargh, the French Army and their dogged insistence on magazine safeties, compromising perfectly good pistol triggers since at least the 1920s. (We have them to thank for the fact that the Hi-Power has one, even though they then declined to adopt it. Merci, fellas!)
