  1. I've seen similar advertisements for the Thompson gun---copy describing it as ideal for home defense, with a little cartoon of a man blazing away from his front porch at... something. As far as using a time machine to buy one from a store goes, be careful that the date you choose is not October 12, 1937, and/or the store is not Dakin's Sporting Goods in Bangor, Maine.
