  1. Its very sad but i think amateur radio has had its peak and now dropping off year by year. As others have mentioned it does not capture the younger generations interest. Its simply too much effort. All the hams i talk to (on 11 meters) grew up with the CB boom of the early 80's and when that went awful they progressed to the amateur side. Alas we are all now growing older and dying off. I ve encouraged a few younger people on to CB but many soon become bored that there are not people on all the time. They have grown up with instant internet based com like Xbox live and Skype. Ok iam shutting up now as i sound like my Dad. Nice video Lewis. Good subject.

  3. Well said and all sadly true Simon. UK FM CB still attracts a certain type of football yob culture with grown men who like nothing better than to show the world every swear word they have ever learned since starting school in the 1970's. I am lucky to have found a great group of mature guys who are willing to spend time on SSB. Most of them are Hams who prefer to hang around on 11 meters.
