  1. Should have done a in car sound test. That T5 motor would have sounded a lot sweeter on the boil than the D5.

  5. I drive a number of new mini type vans with hard plastic on the doors and within a few months they pick up scratches. They also are more prone to squeaking as the inside warms up an a cold morning. I can forgive it on a van but not on a £30k VW. My 1996 SE Polo had better door cards.

  6. Its normally fine upfront with the side windows up you prob wont notice any wind. However in the rear you will get blasted at speed.

  7. Same engine they put in the MR2 AW11. Sounds awesome 6.5 k onwards.

  8. I think i would love the car for about 6 months but the cheap feeling platic interior would start to bother me. Esp when i got a ride in a mates Kia which was half the price and had a nicer interior.

  9. The rear passengers always get a bit shunted. This car has total hard plastic on all the door cards other than a small padded square to rest your arm.

  12. It would be nice if the 10.3" dual screens were standard but you get small 7" on the "A" instead. The larger screens are part of an expensive option pack which does give you more equipment but shame you cannot just pay for bigger screens.

  13. Yes fair point but Its a VW and its £30k. They should have put in better materials than a Polo costing half as much. When you go to the showroom and compare you see it straight away.

  19. I had my heart set on this car from the first look at the motor show. However i looked at one the other week and the first thing that struck me was the door card is the total hard plastic. There is only a small pad for your elbow. It reminded me of a van door. It just looks cheap even in a £15k car let alone the £30k SEL i was looking at buying. I think the dash layout and euipment esp on the SEL is good enough but i just do not get the cheaper plastics than a Polo costing half as much. I ve backed off for now. An ex demo Audi Q2 looks better for your money. Its such a shame they did not spend an extra few quid on the plastics.
