@MrKakibuy Russia must be contained. If we don't then Russia will eat the East of Europe for breakfast like it did previously for 50 years. Allowing Russia power over you is the biggest mistake any county can make. I know, I'm Romanian. Members of my family died in Siberian forced labour camps (we didn't get their bones back still), members of my family were raped (youngest just 10 years old), my family properties, everything they worked for generations was taken away with Russian tanks on Romanian streets.

The Achilles heel of democracy, short terminism because politicians don't last long while in autocracies leaders last usually their whole life and make long lasting plans

@TheMalakasss China, Russia and Iran had naval military exercise in Indian Ocean yesterday so I don't understand why you are so chirpy. China's military has more than 1.000.000 soldiers already and growing

Yeah...that worked well when merkel did it and allowed Putin to keep mugging

@noradrenalin8062 most known approving NS2 IN 2015 -2016 going against almost all EU member states and allowing Russia to keep Crimea and attack Ukraine. Also merkel vetoed Ukraine NATO membership on the principle "don't worry, Putin won't attack" He played her like a fiddle!

@MrKakibuy every time you appease an aggressor you only allow him to see your weakness! He will never stop! Every dent he makes in your armour is raising his chances to give you a deadly blow next time! You don't win an extreme aggressor with kindness and treats. How I know? I lived with 2 extreme aggressors in the house for 18 years, 1 month and 10 days.

@MrKakibuy by "contain" I mean not allowing Russia to grow on our money Romania had to join ww2. Was way to small and weak to survive caught between the axis giant and the Russian giant...like Ukraine is now. If the west is failing Ukraine next in line will be the Baltic's, Poland and Moldova. In that moment the NATO is dead, EU is dead too. If these organisations can't protect their members because they choose to appease the aggressor then they should be just dust in the history books.

@MrKakibuy WOW! I don't know if you are naive or you just try some gaslighting with me here. This is not a short term game! I repeat not a short term game ! As USA is dwindling in its economic and political power Putin is waiting for trump to come back (or a younger trump copy) which won't care 1 jot about Europe. Like trump signed with the Taliban's like that will sign with Putin too. And that will be it for eastern Europe. You people really think about us that we are all stupid, isn't it?
1
@MrKakibuy yeah... Russia had all the cards in Finland too... This kind of assumptions will not improve your game, I suppose you don't play chess with Putin on Sundays. That's why I was talking about failing Ukraine by the West allowing aggressor to continue the mugging
1
@MrKakibuy yeah...that won't work either as Putin need "a win" to keep its population in line. That's easy when he starts a war, take the strong males out of the population , throw them in a war as canon fodder, left behind in the territory are just the old, women and kids which are wayyyyy easier to control.

@noradrenalin8062 and she started it (NS2) in 2016 when she was in office

@noradrenalin8062 my bad. I confused her veto for NATO membership. She and Sarkozi vetoed Georgia membership in 2008 and then Russia invaded it... During the NATO summit in Bucharest, United States and Poland called for Georgia to be allowed to join the Membership Action Plan (MAP). The alliance decided not to offer Georgia a MAP due to opposition from several countries, led by Germany and France, who feared the decision would anger Russia. - Bucharest NATO summit Apr 2- Apr 4 2008 Not later than August 2008 Russia invaded Georgia. With this kind of "friends" who needs enemies?

@noradrenalin8062 I'm not asking who brokered that pipe. She was chancellor for 16 flipping years From the Nord stream 2 site quote: "Pipeline construction began in 2018. By the end of 2019, it was complete in Russian, Finnish and Swedish waters, with much of the work finished in German and Danish waters as well. Because Denmark was the last country to grant a permit for construction in its waters, most of the remaining work had to be done in that area." I knew the construction started in 2016, I was wrong, it started in 2018. Even worse! She had so much time at her disposal to put a stop to it and she didn't.

@noradrenalin8062 you mean throwing Georgia to the wolves was the right thing to do? They are doing the same thing now with Ukraine. And comparing Bulgaria and Latvia buying power with Germany is ridiculous and honestly hilarious. I get it! You are German and you feel the need to jump for your governments. Are you a bit afraid that your gov will stand by you (not) like they stand by other "allies"? Politicians without spine don't grow a spine when it's about their citizens. You should be worried. I am worried as my father house is just 1200 km away from the front in Donbas.

@MrKakibuy I hope, hope, hope you are right, on the other hand my guts and logic is telling completely different things. A wounded beast is always the most dangerous one. And when I talk about wounds I'm thinking weak economy, political opposition, wounded ego (the worst offence in front of a dictator). On the war +side is that the dictator will get rid in one fell swoop of that part of the population which can oppose -young, strong men. With them all on the front Putin's clench on power will get stronger on the rest of the population. I hope I'm wrong. We will see!

@noradrenalin8062 I'm not from the listed countries. If you would have read the thread you would have found out. Anyway...at this point I don't really have time to offer you. Back in the box
