I live in Cyprus... The salaries negotiated by unions its a sick joke! Unions negotiate only for their members, not for the whole industry and I working in a nonaffiliated company can't benefit... Btw, SEK union is a joke and the law for unions is a joke. If my boss doesn't agree I (and my colleagues) can't become union members... Does anyone on this planet know a boss who would agree of the kindness of his heart for his staff to unionise ?

@sarantis1995 EU didn't scrapped union bargaining, your government lied to you and you should know better than believing them All the Scandinavian countries have huge unions and salaries are settled by UNION BARGAINING Your government just needed a scapegoat to give you when they screwed you... Was not the EU, was your own government

@sarantis1995 if those "EU memorandums" existed you could provide a link to them and you could show me the dismantling of unions powers in the Nordic members too... What imf demanded from your government for their part of the bailout is not EU fault and I have a feeling you can't show me any document where imf demanded union power curtailed either. No... Was not the EU, and I have a feeling was not the IMF either... We have a government of capitalists sharks like the owner of Costa coffee who wants to keep its staff on starvation wages and not unionised... That's the problem and I have the feeling you voted for these people... I didn't vote for them as I don't have the right to vote

@sarantis1995 what's the national budget had to do with the unions???? Are unions paid from the national budget???? Let me guess ... The only privileged people with access to a union were the people paid from the national budget. I'm in Cyprus. Cyprus got bailed out by EU and IMF. The unions for the governmental workers are fine here that's why I don't think those were the culprits... The unions for private industries workers are weak, small and useless. The law that supervise the unions is complete lunacy and for the first time in my life I've heard of "a right leaning union".... Wtf is that??? A union that lean towards the rich owners of the capital?
