Yes, Europe kept cutting social support networks for the last 45 years and that is reflected in the rise of criminality. When poor children don't have a place to turn and no hope for future and nothing to lose they turn to criminality.

@sven4627 to rise criminality you only need a few in a community. Criminals are not limited to one per capita. In a town of 20000 you need to catch into safety social nets as many as possible, you lose 10 your risk rise, you lose 100 the risk rise exponential, you lose a few thousands that risk is very very high

@spadaacca imported indeed but also locally grown. How much as percentage of the salary was a rent or a mortgage in the 80's???? How much is now??? My parents could afford to buy property and live decent on one salary (my father) ... Newer generations can't afford a property on 2 or 3 incomes... There is no more hope, people that have nothing to lose become dangerous

@lukazupie7220 the level of expectations and societal pressure is different between the poor countries and developed countries.
