  2. Steinmeier was the Minister for Foreign Affairs in 2008 when Germany (and France) vetoed Ukrainian bid for NATO membership! Steinmeier chose Russia cosy relationship over what was right more than a decade ago. That was not forgotten!

  3. If Germany want respect then they should first offer respect! In 2008, at NATO's Bucharest Summit, Steinmeier personally vetoed the road for NATO membership for Ukraine (and Georgia). Georgia was invaded immediately, Ukraine was invaded in 2014. Germany showed the world that their pockets and bellies are more important than Ukrainian and Georgian lives

  4.  @CarolineWolterHall  the road to membership is the long term process in which the country that want to become a member change its institutions and governance process to finally reach the democratic standard required to become member. Germany and France took even that long process and chance from Georgia and Ukraine.

  6. I don't think Ukraine want HIM (steinmeier) as a negotiator. He personally vetoed the road to NATO membership for Ukraine in 2008! He chose cosy relationship with Russia many times before over what was right. What kind of negotiations he would have done?
