No. Romania did that in Ceausescu time. Presidential decree 770 from October 1966 made abortions and contraception illegal, force women to become chattel and bring to this world children they couldn't take care of. Orphanages became some kind of death camps because they couldn't take care of all those abandoned children. Lots of women chose to do "illegal" abortions and tens of thousands died from the consequences of those medical procedures done in unsafe environment with unsafe tools. If you want to see more just check the Romanian orphanages in 1990's (after we shot Ceausescu) videos on YouTube.

Check the Romanian data after abortion was made illegal in October 1966... check how many women died from "illegal abortions", check how many children were born to live a life of hell in Ceausescu's orphanages. You don't look after a year at the repercussions of a population policy, China is the proof of that as the results of 1 child is visible now, after decades

@estraume and btw, having children is a economical issue more than a political issue. If you don't have any economic safety for yourself you won't start breeding 10 children

@estraume my mom almost died twice from illegal abortions in Ceausescu's time I was 6 and 10 and I was terrified as I understood exactly what was going on... I felt like you slapped me across the face when you called me an activist. If you think breeding white women with the force of the state will be the way you'll keep your pension going you are wrong!

@oscrates9879 you also have bias... Your religion makes you blind. Now if you could make your patriarchs butt off from the state's affairs then maybe some of those countries would stand a chance... Btw I'm Romanian and I f.u.c.k.i.n.g hate the religious thieves and power hungry
