  3. the amount that the UK actually paid for the lend-lease given is actually quite tiny , the reason it was paid until 2008 was because the USA basically donated everything It's not like 10% of the UK's annual budget was going to the USA as payment for the debt , it is more like every 10 years they'd pay off like 2-3 Billion USD , which is basically nothing for the UK
