Radical elements which now in eastern Europe at best have access to light guns would suddenly start getting tanks and jet fighters . Nato is a necessary force to deter russia and it's foreign policy . There is a good reason why eastern European countries joined nato . They all saw what Russia did to Moldova and Georgia in the 90s . The best way to ensure that little green men don't end up inside your borders is to make that action equivalent to declaring ww3
