Taliban was defeated militarily when the coalition was present. The Taliban didn't control much territory or do major damage enemy forces but the problem is Taliban is more akin to a radical political party rather than an actual military force so no matter how much you bomb you can't conquer them .

@JGold-cu5mo with a big enough picture nothing really matters . That's not a good point . From the strict sense USA accomplished its objectives . Now if the objectives were good or not is a another question entirely

Nothing to do with the massive corruption and incompetent management. USA trained them bad . Nothing to do with thousands defecting or military hardware being unmaintained and state funds lining the pockets of generals .
