@johnadam2885 majority of these factories were hardly competitive before. Also it's only a matter of time before new sources ensure those factories work again. They don't have legs and aren't going to go anywhere

@John Adam 1) ad hominem 2) LNG costs 5 times as much now . New terminals built , additional production and infrastructure will lower the price . The same arguement was being made back in 2000s that wind is bad because of its costs , they lowered substantially. 3) cost of labour in Germany was high before the war too . Germany isn't going to face big problems because of aluminium production. Germanies economy wasn't based off of raw dumb industry. Europe makes high quality goods I mean take asml , Carl Zeiss , KFB , UKERC , Atlanpole Biotherapies. 4) as for your example in Japan is still 3rd in terms of number of vehicles made . They're a highly industrialised country . Granted they're facing demographic problems but they weren't de industrialised. 5) Europe at worst is going to have somewhat of a reduction in GDP but it's hardly going to de industrialise anyone . OPEC and Iran tried the same trick and they were forced back down .
