As a Georgian we lost control of abkazia in the 90s and not during the 2008 war .the 2008 war was about a different thing
279
Yeah ever since the opposition leaders mysteriously killed them selfs he has had good run
216
Nato . Also look at what chechnya did to the russian army unsupported and now imagine nearly 40x larger war with western support . It would destroy Russias economy
92
@JabbarTV1 not to get all .russia bad because x and Georgia bad because y and like that. So basically in 1991 a military conflict started in abkazia between Georgia and the self-proclaimed government of abkazia in which abkazia received support from russia which gave them weapons and equipment Russia also sent in volunteers , but many people claim that the volunteers were actually regular army troops .also at that time Georgia was also in a conflict with South Ossetia (samachablo) which russia also took part in . during 2008 tensions were at a very high point so a war started in which Georgia did loose but abkazia didn't get involved in the war that much only joining in at the end of the war and barely participating in it . also not that many territorial changes took place during the war and no territorial changes took place in the coast
64
@polishherowitoldpilecki5521 defend them by supporting war criminals?
54
Jihad Express source . Total nato deaths is around 3.5k and the suicide rate for veterans isn't that much higher than the average person
48
@Chikanuk 2k dead for nato against 30 million Nearly 30k dead for Russia against 1.8 million Nukes would end the whole world . My point was that even if Russia could take over those regions insurgencies would be impoo to put down
39
@polishherowitoldpilecki5521 also Georgia is a secular nation also abkazia and Ossetia dont speak Russian as their main language they have their own languages
30
@polishherowitoldpilecki5521 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamani_massacre
28
vann tedd we have pictures and un reports of those massacres .btw Georgia and Ukraine are independent nations and can join what ever organizations they want to with out russian approval .if Ukraine wanted to merge with Zimbabwe and both countries agreed technically they wouldn't be doing anything wrong .its not Russias business to control other nations foreign policy . btw Americas actions dont justify Russias
25
@TheBobVova Mate at that moment you were actively helping a military force at war against a neutral nation.that force displaced a majority of a population only based on their ethnicity and political alignment . abkazia was Georgian territory legally ,making the conflict tied to Georgia while Georgia isnt russian territory so Georgia joining nato isn't an attack on russia . a attack against russia would be if Georgia gave Chechnya weapons to fight against russia.
25
@polishherowitoldpilecki5521 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukhumi_massacre
24
@polishherowitoldpilecki5521 the eu report was commissioned by russia .also lots of people in Georgia also speak russian that doesn't make the Georgian language not our main language . including the wars in the 90s Georgia has at most killed around 2.1 k civilians if go off the highest estimates , if go off more reasonable one the number is like 1.4k while Georgia with the lowest estimates has lost 14k people and more reasonable estimates say that Georgia has lost 35 k .it is very clear who killed who
24
@Chikanuk I am from georgia the country . Its a post soviet state . I am going to say that 99% of people I've talked to who are between the ages of 18-30 don't like the ussr one bit . These are the people who would be in fighting shape if there was to be a war
21
@polishherowitoldpilecki5521 also in 2008 hrw and the eu didn't find Georgia guilty of genocide and ethnic cleansing
21
@Chikanuk Crimea was taken durring a situation of instability with local support Isis wasn't an incurgency for the most part . Its tactics were more related to technicals and propaganda rather than hit and run and aimbushes If Russia was to retake the former Soviet territories it would have to deal with incurgencies with massive population well over 50 million people . Now imagine that these incurgencies start suddenly getting javelin anti tank weapons and patriot missiles . Russia wouldn't be able to hold the territory . Each year thousands of Russians would fall victim to vicious guerilla warfare . Chechnya is small so it doesn't have the recourses to overcome Russia but post soviet would . I doubt any state could manage those types of things
19
@Chikanuk it would be massive Also the younger generations don't care for the Soviet Union . Not to mention an invasion will radicalise people . Belarus might sit still but what about countries which have terrible relations with Russia . Imagine your country gets invaded by forgein power . Invasions are rarely clean . There would be civilian casualties . With the modern age and the internet even once kamani massacre would be enough to demonize Russia and radicalise thousands of people .
18
@TheBobVova russia represents a threat to Georgia and many other nations but until it attacks it doesn't give them a right to attack it. Georgian foreign policy is Georgian and unless it directly involves russia like Georgia making a agreement with russia specifically .russia doesn't have a right to get involved with out being asked to get involved
18
@TheBobVova nato is a defensive pact so it will become an enemie when it gets attacked
13
@TheBobVova nato was founded to protect against the ussr not to attack the ussr.
12
@giopa110888 i meant like on a grand scale which affects geopolitics .
11
@TheBobVova article 5 states that an attack on one country means an attack on all
10
@TheBobVova ok then how many nato bombers have bombed russian troops ? How many nato solders are in Russia ?how many nato bases are in russia ?
10
@TheBobVova also how is georgia joining nato an attack on russia
9
@Леонид Агафонов next video how Russia lost thousands of young men in brutal western backed incurgencies and collapsed its economy
7
@nuraxthegreat9725 ahh yes natural gas the low carbon energy source
7
@TheBobVova oh yes Georgia a country of 3.7 million is a threat to russia a country of 140 million if anything russia is a threat to us .also when has nato attacked a nation which had a military alliance treaty with russia ?
7
Except USA has never annexed Cuban land . Not to mention it generally kept the soviet union out by diplomacy
6
@Bee.Holder yet somehow the russians fled from Kyiv . Ukrainians have anti tank weaponry and drones . Every place Russia tries to take will have the capacity to hit back
6
Rivers don't work like that even if they dam the russian part
5
Gosh I wonder why doesn't eastern Europe want to be with Russia it's not like Russia is a military power which has conducted 5 ilegal military operations in 3 different countries
5
@Chikanuk https://icds.ee/en/the-2008-russia-georgia-war-five-years-later/ that the Russian side or rather the Ossetians with support from the Russian forces conducted a multitude of provocations during the summer of 2008, which led to the war. Incessant border violations and intervening in another country’s internal affairs can be very provoking, as well as continuous fire over the line of control, installing mines on the roads on the other side, and much more. https://www.ksk.edu.ee/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/ENDC_Occasional_Papers_4_final.pdf The following fact confi rms the participation of Russian artillery in the bombardment of Georgian villages before the beginning of the confl ict and the lack of neutrality on behalf of the Russian “peacekeepers”. The Russian Army Lieutenant Oleg Golovanov directed Russian artillery fi re on the Georgian villages from an observation post situated on the roof of the building of the so-called Russian “peacekeeping” battalion.90 By nightfall, the Georgian villages of Nuli and Avnevi, in the Liakhvi enclave had been completely destroyed by Russian and Ossetian artillery and mortar fi re. Russian peacekeepers had attacked georgia for years before georgia shot back Historically Georgia didn't join by its will but was forced too do as such. Between 1801 and 1917 there were what like 10 different revoults by georgians against Russia . Chechnya isn't loyal to Russia if tomorrow Russia faced a collapse chechns wouldn't help out in any way shape or form.
5
American bases are hosted with the original countries permission .
5
@TheBobVova wasn't the bombings a result of the ethnic cleansing of Albanians
5
@TheBobVova 1. Nato was founded as a defensive pact against russia 2. Just because they rejected you doesn't make them an enemie 3.they bombed a country which didn't have a military alliance with russia 4. The bases around russia are there with permission of the host country so russia has no say in what the other independent country does
5
@Chikanuk kosovars are independent on the basis of remidal seccesion . They experienced ethnic cleansing
4
@ML-mm2th USA has the right to trade with anyone they desire be it Cuba or Canada . After the missile crisis Cuba was left alone for the most part
4
@alexsilent5603 mate didn't france leave nato for a bit .also at the start of the Falklands war Britain and the usa were working in opposition of eachother also eu has sued lots of American companies
4
@shashankkolhe4111 I live in a post soviet state and noone here supports Russia especially the young people
4
@shashankkolhe4111 hosts who ? Source ? You guys gave shamil basyev tanks you have no ground to stand on Eastern Europe throughout history has had very great times but only when left alone . The west still supports Georgia after 30 years
4
@TheBobVova uhh its natos choice who they wanna accept in their alliance .also in russia the same guy has been in power for the past 20 years.
4
The UN . Every country except for 11 most lawyers
3
@sriharshacv7760 yeah thats lower then the previous years 99% he is kinda tanking
3
B D why ? Be honest Russia just doesn't like the fact that it can't bully the baltics into submission like it can do with other countries
3
Russia has violated many of its neighbouring countries laws so they don't want that to happen
3
There was no coup in Ukraine
3
Tell that to the Christian georgians and Ukrainians
3
Yes because they used those to crush democratic movements in Poland and Hungary
3
First they leave georgia Ukrainie and Moldova alone
3
Russia isnt a dictatorship .the thing is that whenever someone in russia run against putin they kill themselves with two shots to the head
