Rivers don't work like that even if they dam the russian part
5
@Chikanuk kosovars are independent on the basis of remidal seccesion . They experienced ethnic cleansing
4
The UN . Every country except for 11 most lawyers
3
@breakthechains5140 fealty and loyalty aren't decided by countries . But territorial ownership is. Russians in Crimea can be loyal to whom ever they like doesn't change the fact that Russia unilaterally decided to change the territories of Ukraine In violation of multiple UN laws , the khirov pact and the 1997 black sea partition treaty
2
It wasn't ilegal . Both of SSRs agreed to it
2
Still annexation . Referendums don't matter if the parent country didn't approve
2
Kharkiv pact the Budapest memmorium and the 1997 black sea partition treaty forbid Russia from taking Crimea no matter what the locals wanted
2
No . Ukraine isn't responsible for the wellbeing of Crimeans as it doesn't control it
1
@suzaliebinmohamad-9653 I think if Ukraine gave out free citizenship and housing to Crimeans who defect then I think morally it would be justified
1
@davids5126 only if you control the territory . If you don't then it's not
1
@breakthechains5140 still ilegal you can't just vote to leave a country. There are laws which need to be followed to seccesed legally . Meaning proper permissions from the government
1
@breakthechains5140 yeah I am just gonna declare an independent state take yo stuff and then Ukrainie can't do anything to me because I am in a separate state . I won't pay taxes I am in a separate state . I will declare an important road junction a state and force people to pay a toll and Ukrainie can't do anything I am in a separate state . I will allow hostile forces into Ukrainie Not to mention Russia has the same laws
1
@breakthechains5140 you totally missed the point of the argument . These laws are necessary
1
@breakthechains5140 not of another country but laws on its own territory .
1
That would be a very large cannal so idk
1
Crimea canal is easier to dam then the dniper
1
It was still ilegal
1
@luckyluke1503 yes Kosovo was to ilegal imo . But Crimea is more ilegal because Russia signed treaties forbidding them from doing such things
1
@luckyluke1503 president was removed from power legally according to the Ukrainian constitution
1
@luckyluke1503 noone was going to kill him he was guilty of treason got voted out by the Ukrainian parliament and was being prosecuted . Look up article 111 of the Ukrainian constitution
1
Russia violated the khirov pact and the 1997 black sea partition treaty by takin in Crimea even if the people wanted to join
1
Russia openly acknowledged the fact that Crimea was Ukrainian territory and agreed not to intervene in Ukrainian national affairs
1
Damming a canal is easy . Damming a river is hard
1
It's wasn't the cia it was the Ukrainian parliament
1
It wasn't a military coup or a coup even . Yanukovych got impeached by the parliament
1
Oh yes I remember sochi
1
Yanukovych was impeached not overthrown
1
@dragosstanciu9866 Maybe they'd just send weaponry and try to pull an Afghanistan
1
Still ilegal according to Russia it was something like 90% but really it wouldn't have been much over 62% because most Ukrainians and Tatars were pro Ukraine
1
Still ilegal doesn't matter who voted for what
1
Thats if you control the territory . Once you longer control a territory it's not responsibility to provide anything
1
@k.alipardhan6957 the crimeans can defect to Ukraine . Also Ukraine legally is not responsible for their well-being
1
@morzh1978 yeah but Kosovo is independent on the basis of remidal seccesion
1
It would take 10 ships to provide drinking water alone . Let alone the needs of industry and agriculture
1
It's not that easy to do . It depends on where the rover gets sources from and other contributors
1
@kentriat2426 yeah but it's not like damming will be cheap or easy . The water there needs to somewhere and something needs to keep it place . You're talking about a very large dam with disasterous environmental consequences
1
Russian ships house what like 1000 men at most .
1
@goodiezgrigis Russia would need like 4 those ships to satisfy Crimea for 1 day . Just for like people to live this doesn't include industry or cleaning or agriculture
1
Either you become a traitor and choose Russia because better pensions and be thirty or you choose Ukraine and love normally
1
It was still ilegal
1
Ukraine isn't obligated to provide anything to Crimea
1
@mer3abec legally speaking the occuping force on territory is responsible for the wellbeing of the citizens . Ukraine isn't required to provide anything Russia didn't prevent a genocide btw they just harboured criminals and violated international law
1
@davids5126 its not . By the Geneva convention Ukrainie doesn't have to take care of Crimeans since Ukraine doesn't control them. Russia has to
1
@davids5126 https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.icrc.org/en/doc/assets/files/other/icrc_002_0365.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwiUzM_viurxAhW3_rsIHfowAp0QFjAAegQIBhAC&usg=AOvVaw0vrBIQe-uFyu1oc3M3Pzhh Pg 29 5) occuping administration A) treatment of persons The Occupying Power has the duty of ensuring the food and medical supplies of the population. Fair value must be paid for any requisitioned goods. The occuping power of Crimea currently isn't Ukraine thus isn't obligated to do anything for Crimea .
1
People of Crimea do not matter in the face of treaties
1
@ForOne814 Separatists are disorganized mob only real military forces there are russian and Ukrainian armies . So it's unlikely separatists could get that done efficiently
1
@ForOne814 at the beginning they did very easily take over the separatist regions but after russian intervention had problems
1
@ForOne814 yeah more help
1
So did Ukrainians die for that land and of we're going by blood ownership Russia needs to compensate Ukrainie for the holodamor
1
Still ilegal
1
It would take Russia years and billions to possibly build the world's largest dam .
1
@davids5126 the Geneva convention states that the well being of residents of a territory is the responsibility of the occupants of the said territory
